About Dark Horse Candidate

Dark Horse Candidate is a nonpartisan political crowdfunding conduit. We let citizens pledge real money to draft a specific individual to run for public office. 100% of your contribution goes directly to the candidate's authorized campaign committee upon filing — Dark Horse Candidate does not pool or control contributed funds.

Dark Horse Candidate is a for-profit commercial platform, not a political committee. We charge a 3.95% processing fee on contributions and accept optional tips to sustain the platform. These fees are not political contributions and do not count toward FEC limits.

The pledge-to-draft mechanic was pioneered by Crowdpac and validated by the FEC in Advisory Opinion 2014-07. We are building a permanent nonpartisan home for that model, operating as a conduit under federal election law.

We do not endorse candidates. We do not rank campaigns by party. We do not take sides.
